Ian Muress has been in the claims business for 36 years and is chief executive officer for all of Crawford's international businesses outside the Americas, including the U.K., CEMEA and Asia-Pacific regions. He has an acknowledged passion for strategic client partnerships and a global understanding around claims handling and industry standards.
Muress was appointed as CEO, Crawford & Company, U.K. & Ireland in 2002, since which time the U.K. business has experienced a resurgence not only as a pre-eminent claims management business, but also as a financially strong, regulated and growing organization for which talented people aspire to work.
In January 2006, Muress was tasked with leading the organization's growth across the entire EMEA region, effectively bringing together the former U.K. and continental European, Middle East and Africa regions. In this multi-faceted role, Muress represented the EMEA business across more than 30 countries, while developing and supporting key client relationships.
In January 2008, Muress also took responsibility for the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia. 2014 saw Muress lead the strategy team responsible for the acquisition of GAB Robins in the UK. His priority continues to be driving strategy that delivers outstanding client service enterprise-wide while leveraging best practice across all the international businesses.
